More than 300 of about 500 workers at the Charis sculpture factory in Yangon walked out on 6 November 2024 after overtime bonuses due on 21 October went unpaid, and after two female workers were assaulted by director Wang Xiao Jun. They demanded his dismissal and the reinstatement of colleagues. More than 50 workers were sacked, and the Hong Kong-owned parent asked the military junta to break the strike.
