Workers at General Motors' pickup truck plant in Silao, Guanajuato, voted on 17 and 18 August 2021 on whether to keep their collective bargaining agreement, in a rerun supervised after the United States launched the first USMCA Rapid Response Labour Mechanism action against Mexico in May 2021. The labour ministry reported that 5,876 workers voted and 3,214 of them, just under 55 percent, rejected the agreement, nullifying the contract negotiated by the CTM-affiliated Miguel Trujillo Lopez union.
