GM Silao collective bargaining vote and USMCA remediation 2021
The United States launched the first USMCA Rapid Response Labour Mechanism action on 12 May 2021 over a denial of free association and collective bargaining at General Motors' Silao plant in Guanajuato. Under the July 2021 remediation plan workers voted again in August 2021 and rejected their collective contract, nullifying the agreement negotiated by the CTM-affiliated union.
