About 250 mostly Bangladeshi workers at Kawaguchi Manufacturing Sdn Bhd in Port Klang, Selangor, protested on 13 December 2024 over unpaid wages totalling more than RM800,000 since May, then held a second protest outside the labour office on 18 December. A five-hour mediation produced an agreement to pay 251 workers up to seven months of arrears in instalments, cover flight tickets and immigration fines for 25 workers and arrange work with other companies. The factory shut down later in December after Sony and Panasonic halted orders. FMT says arrears exceeded RM800,000 since May 2024, while AP says 280 Bangladeshi workers and up to eight months of withheld wages.

Outcome
Partial – Free Malaysia Today reports the first protest at the Port Klang factory on 13 December 2024 with about 250 workers and a second protest outside the labour office on 18 December, where a five-hour mediation produced an agreement covering 251 workers. Arrears were to be paid in instalments to November 2025; by May 2025 the Asahi Shimbun (AP copy) reported that only RM251,000 of more than RM3 million ordered by a labour tribunal had been paid, so the outcome is partial.
