PT Telkom Divre IV workers strike against Indosat transfer plan
View on map Part of: Telkom Divre IV asset transfer strike 2002
More than 3,000 workers of the state-owned telecommunications firm PT Telkom in its Central Java and Yogyakarta regional offices (Divre IV) struck on Monday 28 January 2002 against the plan to transfer the unit to another state-owned telecommunications firm, PT Indosat. Workers came to work but held only prayers during working hours, according to The Jakarta Post, while the World Socialist Web Site reported the action as a strike. The union chief Syahrul Akhyar said the strike would continue until the government formally scrapped the asset transfer plan, and a union spokesman told media that if the demand were rejected all workers in the division had decided to resign rather than work with Indosat.
- Workers involved

- Unknown – No source records how or when the strike ended or whether the asset transfer plan was scrapped, so no end date is recorded.
