Tridonex workers independent union drive and USMCA action
After a USMCA Rapid Response Labour Mechanism petition was filed on 10 May 2021 over a union organising campaign at Tridonex, a Cardone Industries auto parts plant in Matamoros, the company agreed in August 2021 to pay at least 154 dismissed workers. Workers then voted on 1 March 2022 and replaced the CTM-affiliated union with the independent SNITIS.
