Dongguan Yue Yuen shoe factory strike, 2014
Tens of thousands of workers at the Yue Yuen Industrial footwear complex in Dongguan, Guangdong, struck from early April 2014 over unpaid social insurance and housing fund contributions and improper labour contracts. Most had returned to work by late April 2014 after the company conceded on some demands and the local government ordered it to rectify its practices.
